The template of this board was designed by Dick Brewer in 1963, and was originally known as the “Summer Semi”, later given the name “Pipeliner” when Brewer brought this series of boards into the Bing lineup. Three distinct Pipeliner models were made which included the “Pipeliner Gun”, the “Classic Pipeliner” and the model that we now refer to as the “63”. The 63 follows the same template curve as the classic Pipeliner but has a nose width of 18 1/2 ” in contrast to the Classic Pipeliner at 17″. The 63 takes on the characteristics of a modern performance long board with down rails and a subtle concave bottom with substantial vee in the tail. This is a really versatile longboard that can handle a wide variety of conditions.
